Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part IV Credits
Physicians who wish to obtain the 25 MOC IV credits for the Disaster Response Collaborative (DRC) should complete the following steps:
- Participate or view recordings of at least 50% of DRC sessions. This includes the full collaborative sessions and chosen focus area sessions.
- Implement a Quality Improvement project with your team. Describe gaps, identified steps for improvement, and outcomes in Section Three of the attestation form. Ideas on how to achieve these steps are below:
- Participate in a Tabletop Exercise (TTX) based on one of the DRC focus areas (Evacuation; Pediatric Surge Capacity; Pediatric Patient Tracking and Family Reunification; or Triage, Infection Control, and Decontamination).
- Hospital completes the Pediatric Disaster Preparedness Self-Assessment for Children’s Hospital and/or completes the TTX Data Collection Survey to identify gaps in the facility’s disaster plan.
- Participate in at least one drill (or other exercise) to practice the disaster plan, monitor improvements, and/or identify additional areas to improve upon.
- Review data, specific to the drill/exercise, based on at least one DRC suggested process measure.
- Participate OR monitor the identification and implementation of interventions designed to improve gaps in your disaster plan.
- Reflect on outcomes to determine whether the intervention(s) resulted in improvement. If no improvement occurs after an intervention, reflect on why no improvement occurred.
- Upon completion of the DRC, physicians seeking MOC Part IV credits should submit an attestation form attesting to and reflecting on the above requirements.
- Submit all documentation to the DRC administration team by June 1, 2026 via email to dncppn@austin.utexas.edu.
