Description: The first DRC session provided an overview of the collaborative logistics, phases, and structure; the goals and process for pediatric disaster response improvement; information on the four focus areas that teams can select to work on: evacuation, reunification, surge capacity, and triage/infection control/decontamination. Information on continuing education being offered was provided along with short breakout groups (so that participants could meet each other).
Objectives:
- Describe the purpose of the Disaster Response Collaborative.
- Clarify how to form a robust/effective team where there is a plan for communication and sharing of workload throughout the collaborative.
- Outline the general goals for DRC teams enrolled in the collaborative.
- Provide a brief description of what a team can expect during each phase of the DRC.
