The Pediatric Pandemic Network (PPN) offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of health outcomes for children while fostering resilience within families and communities facing crises.
Individuals can engage in various avenues, such as joining our collaboratives, nominating guests for the podcast “Ready. Prep. Go!,” or becoming a PPN Scholar and more. Through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, members work towards innovative solutions that address the specific needs of children during emergencies, disasters, and pandemics. Involvement in PPN amplifies efforts to protect and support the most vulnerable among us, ensuring a brighter and more resilient future for generations to come.
Disaster Response Collaborative (DRC)
The Disaster Response Collaborative (DRC) continues the work of the Disaster Networking Collaborative (DNC), and both are initiatives of the PPN. These initiatives support ongoing efforts to form a network of children’s hospitals that are (individually and collectively) prepared to respond to disasters and pandemics. The goal of the DRC is to improve pediatric disaster response capability and capacity among children’s hospitals.
Award and Training Programs
PPN offers a range of scholarships and training program opportunities aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of professionals in the field of pediatric disaster preparedness. These programs provide avenues for individuals to deepen their expertise, contribute to the advancement of pediatric disaster response, and ultimately improve outcomes for vulnerable pediatric populations during emergencies.
Past Collaboratives
Disaster Networking Collaborative
The Disaster Networking Collaborative (DNC) supported collective efforts to identify and share best practices and cost-effective solutions to enhance each children’s hospital’s infrastructure to prepare for disasters. The goal of the Disaster Networking Collaborative (DNC) was to improve pediatric disaster preparedness across U.S. children’s hospitals by focusing on improving the infrastructure within and external to registered children’s hospitals towards achieving the aim of the PPN children’s hospital network through critical engagement and various support resources.
