Now Accepting Submissions for Proposals for PPN’s 2024 Pilot and Emerging Issues Project

The Pediatric Pandemic Network (PPN) has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) for its 2024 Pilot and Emerging Issues Project, aiming to advance pediatric care in future disasters, emergencies, and pandemics. With the mission to coordinate and disseminate high-quality pediatric care, the PPN invites proposals from affiliated institutions, emphasizing research in mental and behavioral health, disaster preparedness, infectious diseases, and health equity. Up to 10 proposals will be funded over the fiscal year, with key dates including a Letter of Intent (LOI) due by April 1, 2024, and full proposals by June 1, 2024. Successful projects are expected to result in at least one peer-reviewed publication within a year of completion and must undergo Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval or exemption.

The RFP prioritizes projects that align with the PPN’s mission, emphasizing community engagement, health equity, and future external funding prospects. Proposals should address specific aims, background, experimental design, and biosketches of key personnel. Budgets should not exceed $50,000 per year for a total of $100,000 over two years, with no indirect costs permitted. Projects will be reviewed by the PPN Research Domain, with recommendations for funding made to the PPN leadership. Researchers are encouraged to submit their LOI to april.parish@nationwidechildrens.org and adhere to the outlined guidelines to contribute to the advancement of pediatric health care during emergencies and pandemics.
